The Tri-Bank Liquidity Protocol
to diversify my cash
I don't trust my liquidity to a single bank. Here's the exact 3-bank structure I use to triple my FDIC coverage, earn up to 4.10% APY, and lock in $500 cash plus a 0.35% APY boost. Copy my stack below.

The Strategy
The $750k Shield.
If a bank freezes or fails, I don't want to be locked out of my life. Stacking three accounts instantly turns $250,000 of FDIC insurance into $750,000 of coverage.
The Rate Arbitrage.
Banks bait-and-switch their rates all the time. When you have three accounts open, you just slide your cash to whoever is paying the most that month. Zero scrambling.
The 30-Minute Setup.
I set this entire system up in under an hour from my laptop. It is the highest-leverage 30 minutes in personal finance.
Every account below pays you a bonus for signing up through these links.
Free money on top of the interest you're already earning. There's no downside.
The Recommendations
Three vetted, FDIC-insured accounts — each with a sign-up bonus and competitive APY. Open all three in under an hour.
Step 1 of 3 — Open First
Barclays
3.50% → 3.65% APY
3.50% APY on balances up to $250,000; 3.65% APY on balances $250,000+. APYs accurate as of June 24, 2026. Variable, subject to change. $200 bonus offer expires July 31, 2026.
This is the anchor of my stack — the bank that pays you just to show up. Barclays Tiered Savings gives you a $200 cash bonus when you deposit $25,000 within 30 days and hold it for 120 days. On top of that, you earn up to 3.65% APY — roughly 7x the national average. No monthly fees, no minimum to open, and FDIC-insured through Barclays Bank Delaware.
🔥 CLAIM THE $200 BONUS: Open a new Barclays Tiered Savings account, deposit at least $25,000 within 30 days, and maintain that balance for 120 days. The $200 bonus lands in your account approximately 60 days after you hit the 120-day mark. Offer expires July 31, 2026.
Barclays Bank Delaware, Member FDIC. Barclays Tiered Savings Annual Percentage Yields (APYs) are accurate as of June 24, 2026. Rates may change at any time without prior notice, before or after the account is opened. The same rate may apply to multiple Tiers and Tiers may change without notice. APY earned is based on the Tier in which your end of day account balance falls. $200 Bonus Offer: To qualify for this bonus offer, you must be a new Barclays Tiered Savings customer (current and previous Barclays customers with a Savings or CD are not eligible), open an account through 7/31/2026, fund your new Barclays Tiered Savings account with at least $25,000 within the first 30 days of opening the account, and maintain the balance of at least $25,000 for 120 consecutive days. After you maintain the $25,000 balance for 120 consecutive days, the $200 bonus will be added to your account in approximately 60 days. The bonus will be applied and treated as interest for tax purposes and could require Barclays to send you a Form 1099-INT (Interest Income) and file it with the IRS for the year in which you earn the bonus. Offer expires 7/31/2026. Offer subject to change or cancellation without notice. No monthly maintenance fees and no minimum balance required to open. FDIC insured up to $250,000 per depositor, per insured bank, for each account ownership category.
Step 2 of 3 — Open Second
CIT Bank
3.75% → 4.10% APY
3.75% base APY + 0.35% APY Boost — 4.10% APY on balances of $5,000+, 0.60% APY on balances under $5,000. APY accurate as of July 1, 2026. Variable, subject to change. Boost applies for 6 months from enrollment. Boost promotion enrollment ends August 31, 2026.
This is the top rate-earner in the stack — the highest available APY of the three. It's a tiered Platinum Savings account from CIT Bank (a division of First Citizens Bank, FDIC-insured). I park the bulk of my "working savings" here because the rate-per-dollar is the best of the three. Minimum to open is just $100, but you need $5,000+ to unlock the top tier rate.
🔥 CLAIM THE 0.35% BOOST: Use bonus code CITBOOST at signup to lock in a 0.35% APY boost for 6 months. On a $100k balance, that's an extra $175 in free interest over the boost window. Promo enrollment ends August 31, 2026.

About the Strategist
Let's be adults here. I do not own these banks. I don't sit on their boards, I don't set their interest rates, and their CEOs do not text me when they decide to change a sign-up bonus on a random Tuesday.
I built this page to show you the exact architecture I use to protect my own liquidity. I update these numbers as often as humanly possible, but the banking system moves fast.
If you click one of these links and the bank has dropped the APY by 0.05%, or changed the terms of a bonus... do not send my team a five-paragraph email calling it a scam. If you have a complaint about a rate, take it up with the bank. And if you think I am retiring to a private island because you clicked a link and got a free $50 bonus, you vastly overestimate bank affiliate payouts.
I am sharing this because sitting in a 0.01% checking account is financial suicide. I would make these moves sooner rather than later, but you know your situation better than I do.
If you are happy with where your money is, close this tab and go enjoy your day. But if you want to deploy the shield, click the links, read the banks' current terms on their official sites, and make your move.
